Enjoy good food with local delicacies, exciting discussions by the fire, hot sauna and cool lake – just as you please.

From our wooden house “Vuostu” built in 2010 in the light forest or the smaller guest house “Onnela” the view sweeps down to the lake and the beach sauna or in the direction of the Tunturis in the distance. Hiking, rowing, fishing, watching birds and reindeer, barbecuing in the kota or tipi, enjoying the sauna and swimming in the lake or reading a good book – there is time for everything here, especially in summer when the day lasts 24 hours!

The short days in winter offer long twilights with special light and often northern lights enchant the night. You can go snowshoeing in the snow-covered forest, go cross-country skiing on the frozen lake, ice fish, enjoy a sauna with a dip in the ice hole, watch the northern lights or sit comfortably in front of the fire with a book or good music. Dog sled and snowmobile tours can also be booked nearby. We will be happy to help you plan and carry out excursions in the area and visits to places of interest.

From summer to autumn we can also offer one-week intensive Finnish courses for small groups of up to 4 people. Supported by a teacher, you will learn to live everyday life in Finnish for a whole week.

Our house is in the middle of a sparse forest on a small lake in Finnish Lapland near Ivalo. It is about a 20-minute drive from Ivalo airport and about 10 minutes by car from the town of Ivalo with its shops.
