Experience unique architecture and design

The Sunila cellulose factory and housing estate, designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1930s, is a world-renowned monument. The functional buildings, which fit into nature and the environment, form an ideal framework for the combination with Finnish design.

Now there is the wonderful opportunity not only to visit this combination, but to temporarily inhabit it yourself and be inspired. Enjoy the unique living experience in an icon of modernity. If you want to delve deeper into the topic, the relevant literature is available. The beautiful surroundings offer the opportunity for long walks in the forest, sports and, in summer, for beach life on the Baltic Sea..

In the “Aino” apartment you can immerse yourself in the 1930s and the world of Alvar and Aino Aalto, and in the “Eero” apartment you live in world-famous Finnish design from the 50s and 60s. Both apartments are calm, harmonious, inspiring… and beautiful! They are furnished with great attention to detail and high quality and offer everything for a pleasant stay.

The imposing Sunila cellulose factory is still in operation and the original Sunila housing estate comprises just over 300 dwelling units ranging from the 400m2 director’s villa (now a museum) to town houses for engineers and foremen to studios.
